Shirl,

It was so good So many, They started to circle about 1 hour before the meat thrown down
One our two at first, then a whole squadron Wheeling swooping waiting. they there for about
couple of hours, so acrobatic and graceful and so glad they now protected, Lot had been ringed
and number tags clipped to their wings, Even a White Red Kite!!!!.
We just stood in awe then sat looked and gasped silently.
Dont know if you got this programme up North Wonderful Wildlife presenter here in Wales Iolo Williams,

Fab photos!

You are so lucky, I've never seen a red kite.  They are such beautiful creatures.

Re: Red Kites Nant Y Arian

Hi

There is a re-introduction plan called Northern Kites which has seen Red Kites back in the Derwent Valley near Gateshead.  I've spent many an hour there trying to spot these amazing birds but with no success.  Perhaps I'd have better luck down south!

If you're ever heading north I'll let you know where the best places to spot red squirrels are.

Re: Red Kites Nant Y Arian

West wales is basically a sighting each visit!

We went to Ynis Hyr specifically to score a kite. And halfway there, crossing the mountains, one went and flew alongside us for nearly a mile!

Then a few weeks later, had one in Stoke, on River Trent!

Beautiful birds, and shots, Les!
